In addition to our engineering and research positions, AeroVelo is seeking two additional interns to round out our team in this year’s quest to break the human-powered land-speed record of 133 km/hr:
We’re looking for someone with experience in a sponsorship, fundraising or public relations to lead the team’s sponsorship efforts. This will include a Kickstarter campaign, as well as corporate sponsorship drive with a total target of $125k. This is a great opportunity to work with a team that has experience in tackling relatively small budget, but high-impact projects, and to contribute in a big way to awe-inspiring engineering endeavour.
We’re also looking for an individual with experience in photography and videography to capture the action and help tell our story. The role would involve all project photography, as well as the production of a series of short videos that would help bring elements of the research, design, construction and testing to the general public. It would also include posting and web management relating to the media.
Both roles comprise an integral part of a small and focused team that will be working together at our workshop in the downtown core of Toronto. Small parts of the summer will also be spent on the road at various test tracks in Ontario and Michigan. Both positions will be salaried $6,000 for the 4-month internship (May through August). Applications are being taken on an ongoing basis until the positions are filled.
Please complete an application (template available for Sponsorship Director, and Photo/Video Director) and submit along with your resume to internship(at symbol)aerovelo(period)com. The written response is strictly limited to one page total, but you may freely choose the length of each answer. A second page, comprised of relevant images or links to other media is encouraged. Please also submit a resume as a separate file.
The application sections describing your motivation and experience are as follows:
Motivation Statement: Please describe your reason for wanting to intern with AeroVelo, as well as the relevance of this summer’s project to your own interests and goals.
Relevant Experience: For up to three cases, please describe the project, your role, your motivation and the impact or end result of the endeavor. Please address the methods / equipment and team environment of the projects. You can also discuss projects that involved technical communication or the presentation of niche subject matter in an interesting way.
